“How did it all begin? I studied for an undergraduate degree in Immunology at the University of Glasgow. When I graduated in 2001, I did what many aspiring scientists do; I put on my lab coat to get some hands on experience in a proper lab.
“I took my knowledge of the immune system and applied it to the post of Research Assistant at the University of Dundee. Having gained valuable experience in the Division of Cell Biology and Immunology, I took the opportunity to further my studies at King’s College London (KCL) and studied a PhD in the Immunology of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
“I guess you could say that I’ve always been an avid learner for the way in which the immune system works and responds. After completing my PhD, I knew I wanted to stay in the Immunology field and continue my career development within the division of Infection, Immunity, and Inflammatory Diseases as a postdoctoral Research Assistant at KCL.
“The translational research within our lab sparked my interest so I knew I wanted to work in an arena where the development of new therapies was the goal. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work in a number of roles within the CRO industry, getting the opportunity to contribute to my clients drug development programs across many different modalities.
“My background provided me with a holistic understanding of the industry. Most recently as a Global Product Manager, I productised scientific services to meet the needs of the market and got the opportunity to gain strategic marketing skills. I am an immunologist at heart, and when I came across Antibody Analytics, I knew it was the organisation for me.
“As they say – new year, new me – I started working with Antibody Analytics in January 2022. As appointed Chief Operating Officer, it is my job to look after the operational side of things, the doing arm if you like. My team deliver results to our clients to make meaningful differences to their development programs, it’s an immensely satisfying job! It’s been a real pleasure to get to the know the team, I’m looking forward to helping them grow and develop with the Company.
