Celebrating Apprenticeship Week with Kara and Elias!

This week marks National Apprenticeship Week! This acknowledges the achievements of apprentices across the country, and their positive impact on communities, businesses, and the wider economy.

Our Apprentices

At Antibody Analytics, we offer rewarding roles across different departments. We champion ‘invest-in-youth’ initiatives in the form of modern apprenticeships and degree programmes. Our apprentices, Kara Scott and Elias Bleyl, have even been nominated for Apprentice of the Year!

The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2024 is ‘Skills For Life’. We asked Kara and Elias to discuss their apprenticeship paths and the skills they have gained.

Skills for Life

“We both chose to complete admin-based apprenticeships through QA. This took us around a year to fully complete and covered many areas, which enhanced our skills and knowledge. During this time, we both worked towards an SCQF Level 6 Diploma.

Entering the professional workplace through an apprenticeship is a great alternative for young people who are unsure which course they want to pursue at university or college. It also allows you to earn whilst studying!”

Kara’s Story:

“I did a Digital Applications apprenticeship, which was mainly quality and admin based. I wanted to accelerate my learning and career path, whilst gaining hands on experience within the workplace.

This gave me several skills and taught me how to use and integrate bespoke software within my quality role. The apprenticeship sparked my interest in pursuing a career in Quality Administration.”

Elias’ Story:

“I completed a Business Administration apprenticeship while working as an Office Administrator. It focussed on proficiency in Microsoft Office; using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to meet objectives effectively.

The apprenticeship was very flexible, and I could choose modules that integrated with my day-to-day tasks. This meant I could use my work as evidence of my learning when completing my personal reflective statements. While working, I was introduced to specialist software that inspired me to pursue further education with Antibody Analytics. I ended up getting promoted from Office Admin to Trainee Accounts Assistant!”

“We enjoyed our apprenticeships and would recommend them. Antibody Analytics have been very supportive throughout the whole process. Since graduating from our apprenticeships, we’ve both continued to work for the company full-time!”
