Antibody Analytics is always looking for ways to inspire, educate and offer opportunities to the next generation of scientists. We were delighted to welcome Juan for his school work experience week to show him the ropes and offer insight into our world.
Juan joined us on the 14th of February and had the opportunity to get involved in various departments to understand how his studies transfer into the workplace. We’ve recently heard from Juan, who told us all about his week and what he’s learnt.
“I’m currently in S5 at school, and I knew I wanted to find a STEM-focused opportunity for my work experience week. I’ve always been intrigued by science – I’m studying for Highers in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. I was very pleased when I found out I’d get to spend the week at Antibody Analytics, and I’ve had a great time.
“It’s been interesting to understand how each department from research and development right through to assurance all work together in harmony to meet a customer’s needs. The biggest eye-opening experience for me has been to see just how meticulous and sterile the laboratory environment is. I’ve been lucky enough to get a chance to work across all departments, and the team have been really helpful and welcoming.
“I’ve learnt a lot about the world of work and how different this is to the classroom. I want to study medicine when I leave school, and these opportunities will give me great experience for my future UCAS application! It’s been great to see what a collaborative and friendly working environment Antibody Analytics has, and I’d like to thank them for this opportunity.”
